It has been a beautiful fall weekend, the leaves changing colors and the night temps dipping into the forties.
Saturday morning was the “Centreville Days” parade, winding past historic Mt. Gilead. Then in the afternoon was “Merrifield Days,” in the Mosaic area, just behind the Target on Lee Highway. (That development has succeeded in so many ways, creating an intregrated walkable community in a former industrial site).
Saturday night was our event for Ralph Northam in Fairfax City, with well over 150 people attending and great food supplied by Hard Times Chili Cafe, PJ Skidoo’s American Restaurant and Cho’s Garden Korean restaurant.
Sunday I grabbed a fourteen mile run in the a.m., then church. Then Redskins! It was me, the notorious Ben Tribbett, former Senator Emilie Miller and two other friends, all together in Section 451.
It’s been a tough year, but a great day today in the 45-41 shoot-out. Cheers for RG3 and superlative rookie Jordan Reed. Cheers also for Redskins fans who turned out in numbers. Tough day for Redskins haters …. both nationally and locally.
