It’s been four hours since we began today’s meeting for the Senate Privileges & Elections Committee. We have considered and rejected the electoral college bill. We have considered almost a dozen constitutional amendments. Some passed, some failed. My own bill on the mandatory five-year sunset for tax credits passed by a close vote.
We have reviewed a score of bills regarding “photo i.d.” requirements. We reviewed — and passed — my bill mandating more voting machines at the polls. (Before we celebrate, I need to find $5 million to pay for these new machines). We have passed a number of Governor appointments.
And the night is still going. It’s 8:04 p.m.
