Fall Festival in Fairfax

It was a gorgeous fall afternoon yesterday for Fairfax City’s annual Fall Festival.  About forty thousand people jammed into the downtown, an 8-block area between City Hall and North Street.

Delegate David Bulova and I had a booth on Main Street, about 200 feet with the intersection with University.

All the Federal campaigns were there handing out yard signs and stickers, and every third person had on a political badge of some type.  Oddly, I didn’t see any actual candidates but I was only there from 1-5 pm, so I may have missed an earlier appearance.

In the “strange but true” file, I was interviewed at the scene by a British tele-journalist doing a story on the Presidential race for folks back in the U.K.  He wanted to get the real American perspective.  Like I would know …

Looks like downtown Fairfax is the central focus of the race with three weeks to go.
