Back Home

Well it could take a while to deconstruct the “on-again”/”off-again” State Budget, which was finally enacted on Wednesday afternoon.  I’ll put up a later post with some of the details re the 34th Senate district (the “cost of competing” funds were restored; the $300M for Dulles Rail got axed).

Came home to Fairfax City on Wednesday night, then did an immediate U-turn so I could be in Richmond on Friday morning to argue an appeal before the Virginia Supreme Court.

I’m logging frequent flyer miles on I-95.

Last night (Friday) was the “Mayor’s Ball” in Fairfax City.  Proceeds benefit the City’s Spotlight on the Arts.  Then today (Saturday) I attended the dedication of a historical market at “The Freeman Store” in downtown Vienna, which was a voting site in April 1861 when Virginia voters chose secession.  Lots of history there.

Tomorrow morning is the 8K run at GMU to benefit INOVA’s children’s clinic.  Not in race shape, right now.  Need to get there.

Also will be at Vienna First Baptist to say goodbye to retiring minister Kenny Smith.

Good to be back home.
