July 4 Schedule


Tomorrow is July 4th.  It's a huge day.  You'll shake more hands and kiss more babies than any other day.

Here's tomorrow's schedule.

6:30 a.m.  Wake up and watch the City's downtown streets close down.

8 a.m.  Stroll over to Red, Hot & Blue for breakfast reception.

9 a.m.  Visit early bird parade watchers.  Hand out hundreds of fans saying  "I'm a Chap Fan!" 

9:45 a.m.  Meet with Sharon and kids at Division 1.  Load up.

10 a.m.  Fairfax City Parade steps off.  Walk through route with family in convertible.  Then run back to start line.  Walk thru again with Democratic Committee.  This year featuring Governor candidate Creigh Deeds.

Noon   Stop by Old Town Hall for annual luncheon

12:30 p.m.  Stop by parents' house for shower and shirt change.

1 p.m.  Travel to Annandale for annual Labor Council picnic

1:30 p.m.  Come back on 236.  Stop by Camelot Pool to see annual Bike Parade

2 p.m.  Drive up to Vienna.  Man booth at Town's 4th of July gathering.  Shake a few hundred hands. 

4:30 p.m.  Stop by friend's picnic in Vienna.  Eat lunch (or dinner?) 

5:30 p.m.  Stop at home for another new shirt.

6:30 p.m.  Go to Fairfax High School with family for evening entertainment.

7 p.m.  Shaking hands at the High School, while kids eat popcorn and dance.

8 p.m.  Listen to City Band play Sousa

8:45 p.m.  Fall asleep watching fireworks.
